EMBRACING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN TEACHING AND LEARNING OF LANGUAGES

LTLT 2024 is part of ICoLLT 2024 under the theme Embracing Sustainable Development Goals in Teaching and Learning of Languages. The conference is co-organised by Centre for Modern Languages, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (Malaysia); Faculty of Foreign Languages, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (Vietnam); and Universitas Ahmah Dahlan (Indonesia).

The changes and development of a society will affect the evolution of language and the field of education through a paradigm shift. As the realm of education evolves according to current technological developments, language educators and practitioners need to embrace these changes and perceive them as an attraction and a source of excitement to explore new possibilities, always trying to think outside the box. Appropriately, this transformation goes hand in hand within the framework of global trends, particularly with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ICoLLT 4.0 2024 provides the platform to leave our comfort zone and discuss how to embed SDGs into our language classrooms so that the teaching and learning of languages becomes even more meaningful.

ICoLLT 4.0 2024 aims to:

  1. Provide a platform for language practitioners, educators and researchers to network and share knowledge
  2. Promote intellectual discourse and knowledge-sharing of best practices and transformation in language learning and teaching
  3. Analyze the challenges and opportunities in the development of students' skills in language learning
  4. Explore innovative strategies as well as assess current issues and trends in language learning and teaching
